THE HEALTH INSURANCE SCAM
Dear Reader,
Let me tell you about the biggest scam in America right now.
Health insurance.
And I'm going to show you exactly how they're stealing from you.
Obamacare subsidies created a $40 billion annual grift where insurers jack up prices knowing the government pays the bill—45% of exchange enrollees never even use their coverage, but brokers collect thousands in commissions while you foot the tab through national debt.
Free government money triggered predictable fraud: family premiums jumped 25% since 2021, phantom accounts multiplied, and brokers pocket $6,000 per signup—all while small businesses and workers get crushed by costs that employer plans can't escape.
The fix is destroying the insurance cartel through real competition—unregulated alternatives, expanded HSAs, price transparency, and letting anyone sell insurance to anyone, which is exactly what insurers and politicians desperately don't want.
The Promise They Made
Remember when Obamacare was supposed to make insurance affordable?
Fifteen years later, Democrats admit their plans only work if taxpayers cover the entire cost.
That's not a solution. That's theft.
How It Works
During COVID, Democrats raised the income limit for subsidies to 800% of the poverty line.
Translation? A family of five making $300,000 gets government help paying for insurance.
Millions now pay zero for premiums. Who pays instead? You do. Through national debt. $38 Trillion today.
And when the government becomes the customer instead of you, prices explode.
Insurers know the government will pay whatever they charge. So family premiums jumped 25% since 2021. Next year brings another 6.5% increase—the biggest in 15 years.
It's not because care got better. It's because they opened the money spigot.
Who Gets Crushed
Small businesses.
Their plans aren't subsidized. So when premiums rise, workers lose potential raises.
Since 2014, family premiums are up 52%. Worker contributions up 31%. Deductibles up 53% to $1,787.
You're paying more, getting less, and insurance companies are getting rich.
The Phantom Accounts
Here's where it gets crazy.
Nearly 12 million people enrolled in Obamacare never used their coverage. Not once.
That's 45% of all enrollees.
Phantom accounts. Auto-enrolled. Some don't even know they have it.
But someone's getting paid.
The Broker Con
When Biden gave free coverage to anyone earning up to 150% of poverty, brokers saw dollar signs.
The client pays nothing. Brokers collect $6,000 per signup. The insurer bills the government.
Perfect crime.
About 6 million people get full subsidies despite earning above the limit. That's $40 billion a year padding insurance company profits.
Nobody's stopping it because too many people are making too much money.
What Really Drives Costs
The market is rigged.
Contracts prevent doctors from offering cash discounts. The HMO Act protects insurers from antitrust laws. Physician-owned hospitals—the ones that compete on price and quality—are mostly banned.
It's a cartel. Protected by the government. Funded by your taxes.
Federal health spending in 1987: $85 billion. Today: $1.5 trillion. Doubled since Obamacare passed.
More subsidies won't fix this. They'll make it worse.
The Real Solution
Stop subsidizing the scam. Break the cartel.
Let insurers offer whatever plans people actually want. No mandated regulations.
Bring back Trump's three-year short-term plans that cost half as much.
Expand Health Savings Accounts to $12,000 for individuals, $24,000 for families. Tax-free for everything.
Force price transparency. Make it illegal to block doctors from offering discounts.
Let physician-owned hospitals compete again.
Simple. Direct. Effective.
Why It Won't Happen
The insurance industry will fight it. So will the politicians they fund.
They'll say competition is dangerous. That people need "protection."
What they really mean: "We're making too much money to let this change."
What You Should Do
If your employer offers an HSA, max it out. That's your money, tax-free.
Look into health-sharing ministries if you're healthy. They cost a fraction of traditional plans.
Explore short-term plans while they're available. They often cover what you need at half the cost.
Pay cash when you can. You'll be shocked how much cheaper care gets.
And stop believing insurance equals health care. It doesn't.
Health care is you and your doctor. Insurance is just a very expensive, very inefficient payment system.
The Bigger Pattern
This isn't just about health insurance.
It's how the government and big business collude to extract wealth from working people.
Create a problem. Offer a solution that makes it worse. Demand more power and money to fix what they broke.
Health care. Banking. Education. Housing.
Every time.
The Choice
Democrats want to make expanded Obamacare subsidies permanent. More debt. More fraud. More inflation.
That tells you how important this money is to them and the insurers funding their campaigns.
Republicans could offer real competition, choice, and transparency. Will they? Probably not. Too many take insurance money too.
But maybe enough people are angry enough to demand change.
What Real Competition Looks Like
Imagine insurers actually competing for your business.
Plans you want at prices you can afford.
Doctors posting prices online.
Medical savings accounts where you keep what you don't spend.
Hospitals competing like hotels—better service, lower prices.
That's a real market. That's what they took from us.
Bottom Line
Obamacare is a $40 billion annual scam.
Insurers jack up prices because the government pays. Brokers collect thousands while millions of accounts sit unused. Workers get crushed while wealthy families get subsidies.
The fix is simple. Break the cartel. Enable competition.
But that requires courage politicians don't have.
So it's up to you. Vote with your wallet. Choose alternatives. Demand changes.
This scam only works if you keep playing along.
Me? I stopped playing their game years ago.
Maybe it's time you did too.
